Vintage Sears Bellissimo Collection woven brocade coverlet, made in Italy. The pictures of this coverlet do not do it justice, it’s absolutely stunning in person with the golds and reds and tiny bits of chartreuse peeking through. I know it can be had to see a blanket and have a vision of what it would look like finished so I’ve added a photo of a coat that I made last winter with a similar style. Please note that the finished coat in the photos is NOT for sale but is being shown to give you a visual of what this blanket could look like. Ideally I think that this jacket would be great as a 3/4 length jacket with the fringe along the bottom, oversized pockets hidden into the design of the coat, an oversized hood and all the fringey goodness. Take a look at the close up shots of the fringe because it’s intricate and very special. Please note that this material is heavy but not bulky or soft in the way that a quilt coat would be. This material is dry clean only and I’ve had the coverlet cleaned by a local organic dry cleaner so you won’t have to worry about taking care of that anytime soon. This is a true statement piece.
This listing is for one coat to be made from this textile. You will be able to choose your size, type of pockets, snaps or zipper, hood or collar and length of the jacket. I’ve drafted my own pattern for this and right now, I am able to offer it in sizes S-3XL and the measurements are

The materials I use are vintage and will show some wear and minor imperfections. This is a beautiful patina that comes from years of love and mending. Any major imperfections are carefully repaired through visible mending. My goal is first to make you a garment that is sturdy af and will last a lifetime and second, a one of a kind piece of wearable art. I recommend washing your new garment on a gentle cycle and laying flat to dry. Thank you for being part of Mother Nature’s Army by supporting slow fashion.
