FRED! Upcycled fan quilt jacket

Out of stock

The Fred jacket came from the same amazing 80’s florals and stripes quilt that Ethel came from.  This is a bit of a different jacket style that I recently worked up.  It’s got a wider and more cropped torso with a super cute little collar.   Please note that this quilt must have been made with the intention to use it in the spring and fall and while it does have batting, it is a lighter weight quilt.  This would not be intended to be a winter coat if you live somewhere cold. Please note that Fred has some slight color bleed on the right (facing it) shoulder.  See photo

You know I always give my best guess on the sizing but it’s important to know what measurements work best for you.  I would say this would likely best fit a S/M, laying flat pit to pit is 20″ and the length is 20″.   I highly recommend you use a top/ jacket you currently have and love the fit of for measurements (it’s much easier than trying to measure yourself).  Lay the jacket flat, buttoned and measure pit to pit and then the length.  Please note that these materials do not have any stretch.

The materials I use are vintage and will show some wear and minor imperfections.  This is a beautiful patina that comes from years of love and mending.   Any major imperfections are carefully repaired through visible mending.   My goal is first to make you a garment that is sturdy af and will last a lifetime and second, a one of a kind piece of wearable art.   I recommend washing your new garment on a gentle cycle and laying flat to dry.  Thank you for being part of Mother Nature’s Army by supporting slow fashion.
