I was super excited when I found this vintage log cabin quilt because it was light enough to make shorts out of….Also, log cabins are probably my favorite quilt pattern I love the small bits of fabric that make up the patchwork and I could stare at it all day. This is the last pair of shorts I was able to get out of it so there won’t be another pair like them! They have an elastic waist and two rounded bottom pockets on the back. These do have a backing and there are no raw edges on the inside of these shorts.
I encourage you to always use your measurements. It can be tricky to measure your own body and add in enough extra space for ease and such so my best advice is to measure something you already have and love the fit of.
The materials I use are vintage and will show some wear and minor imperfections. This is a beautiful patina that comes from years of love and mending. Any major imperfections are carefully repaired through visible mending. My goal is first to make you a garment that is sturdy af and will last a lifetime and second, a one of a kind piece of wearable art.
