This dress is a mashup of some nature inspired vintage sheets and pillowcases! The best part about it is…you never have to iron it! These vintage pieces were not all from the same set but I feel like they compliment each other perfectly to create a whimsical nature inspired dress! This dress is perfect for frolicking in the forest. The bodice of this dress is lined in the softest/lightweight cotton and it’s got adjustable tie shoulder straps and nice big side seam pockets!
Pinafore dresses are one of my favorite style of dresses because you can transition them to fall and winter by layering a long sleeve and leggings or jeans underneath!
I try to give my best guess on the sizing but encourage you to always use your measurements. It can be tricky to measure your own body and add in enough extra space for ease and such so my best advice is to measure something you already have and love the fit of.
That being said, I think this dress would work best for someone who typically wears a 2-3XL. My sweet spot for dresses with just the right amount of ease is a 24″ pit to pit measurement but this dress is oversized on me because the nature of pinafore dresses with the open sides allows for more bust.
Pit to PIt, 24″ (note that because this is pinafore style, the sides of the chest are open and will allow for more bust)
Length from the top of the bib to the bottom hem, 40″
Bib measurement is, 13″ across the top & 13.5″ long
The materials I use are vintage and will show some wear and minor imperfections. This is a beautiful patina that comes from years of love and mending. Any major imperfections are carefully repaired through visible mending. My goal is first to make you a garment that is sturdy af and will last a lifetime and second, a one of a kind piece of wearable art. I recommend washing your new garment on a gentle cycle and laying flat to dry. Thank you for being part of Mother Nature’s Army by supporting slow fashion.
