It’s June! Happy PRIDE month! I know that Pride months isn’t about buying/wearing rainbow merch….that being said, I’m gonna share a little something my gramma always told me. She talked to me about keeping my corner of the earth tidy, helping and ALWAYS being an ally. I took that to heart and carved a path for myself around it. So, this month, I’ll be making a handful of pride-inspired rainbow wearable art pieces and I will be donating the money from the sales of them to the Trevor Project. These cuties were made from vintage towel scraps leftover from other projects and they’ve got adorable side seam pockets made from a vintage avocado green flower print material.
I try to give my best guess on the sizing but encourage you to always use your measurements. It can be tricky to measure your own body and add in enough extra space for ease and such so my best advice is to measure something you already have and love the fit of. That being said, based on the measurements, these shorts would likely be best for someone who generally wears an XS/S/M and please note the inseam on these is fairly short and these may be cheeky on you depending on how much juice in your caboose friend.
The materials I use are vintage and will show some wear and minor imperfections. This is a beautiful patina that comes from years of love and mending. Any major imperfections are carefully repaired through visible mending. My goal is first to make you a garment that is sturdy af and will last a lifetime and second, a one of a kind piece of wearable art. I recommend washing your new garment on a gentle cycle and laying flat to dry. Thank you for being part of Mother Nature’s Army by supporting slow fashion.
