The fuzzy Fez

I wish you could see and touch this fabric in person right now.  The photos don’t capture the true 70’s essence that this babe carries.  I found this bolt of fabric at a textile salvage building in NC, it was sitting in the back of a bunch of bolts that looked as tho they hadn’t seen the light of day in as long as I’ve been alive.  This is lightweight but soooo soft, fuzzy and warm.  I’ve got lots of ideas to build this one and I can’t wait to brainstorm with the buyer.  I’ve got vintage velvety balls that I can use as trim and I’ve also got a few different vintage trim options that I think would work well to really pull this whole look together and make you feel like you just stepped onto the cast of That 70’s Show.  Please see the photos for some of the trim options I can add if you like.  This listing is for one jacket to be made from this textile. I know it can be had to see a blanket and have a vision of what it would look like finished so I’ve added a photo of a coat that I made last winter with a similar style.  Please note that the finished coat in the photos is NOT for sale but is being shown to give you a visual of what this blanket could look like.  You will be able to choose your size, type of pockets, snaps or zipper, hood or collar and length of the jacket.  This jacket pattern is one that I’ve created and right now, I am able to offer it in sizes S-3XL and the measurements are

S/M, laying flat, pit to pit is 22″, sleeve length is 26″

M/L, laying flat, pit to pit is 24″, sleeve length is 27″

L/XL, laying flat, pit to pit is 26″, sleeve length is 28″

2/3XL, laying flat, pit to pit is 30″, sleeve length is 28.5″

Once your item is purchased, please either add a note to your order letting me know which size you need and we can discuss all the personal details that you prefer.  You can also DM me on Instagram and let me know which coat you claimed and we can discuss your personal details that way.  Whichever option works best for you, I do think IG messaging makes it easier to chat.  The turnaround time for your coat will be 2-3 weeks.  If you’d like to see some options of coats with assorted pockets/closures/snaps/zippers, please take a look at my Instagram page for previous makes.

The materials I use are vintage and will show some wear and minor imperfections.  This is a beautiful patina that comes from years of love and mending.   Any major imperfections are carefully repaired through visible mending.   My goal is first to make you a garment that is sturdy af and will last a lifetime and second, a one of a kind piece of wearable art.   I recommend washing your new garment on a gentle cycle and laying flat to dry.  Thank you for being part of Mother Nature’s Army by supporting slow fashion.
